Dancing with Heart, a free fundraising luncheon, is the celebration of all Heart of Dance has accomplished since our inception in 2015, and an opportunity to transform more young lives in the years to come.

Over 230 guests joined us on May 8, 2019, to learn more about the impact Dancing Classrooms is having on 5th and 8th grade students across Minnesota. Hear what our Co-President and student alumni had to say about the program, and see how you can make an impact in the life of a child through Dancing Classrooms today!

Why Heart of Dance? Co-President Andrea Mirenda breaks down our mission and vision for the future.

Dancing makes Ellie feel like she's part of a community, and this program gave her a reason to be excited about school. Shouldn't all students have the chance to feel this way?

Dancing makes Leo feel joy! And that joy is contagious, see for yourself in the video.  Leo was self-conscious and worried his height would make dancing with his taller classmates difficult, but quickly realized there was nothing to worry about. That's because Dancing Classrooms is a welcoming community where students are free to dance, learn, and grow together.

Where are we headed next? We have a big vision:

  • Expand our life-changing program to serve at least 50 more classrooms in 2020.

  • Offer an alumni program for students eager to continue their Dancing Classrooms experience.

  • Adapt the Dancing Classrooms model to serve seniors, veterans, abuse survivors, and individuals living with mental or physical illness. Our plans for the future are big and they take resources and passion. Yours and ours.

Together we are making a difference in young lives as we build the next generation of leaders in Minnesota.
